Sweet Cheeks!

I watch kids in the morning and I have about an hour between each drop off in the morning and Treyson managed to have a complete diaper blowout during that time. I stripped him down in the living room and started to get his bath going and I hear him booking it to the bathroom. He was SO excited for the bath that he crawled and stood up to try to get in. If he really wanted a bath all he has to do is ask, not poop his pants!! It was so cute I had to take a picture. Look at those sweet cheeks!

Our UTAH Trip

BYU Legacy Hall

 For Christmas I got Mark tickets to his beloved BYU basketball against Ganzaga @ BYU. He has never been to a basketball game at the Marriott  So I wanted to make the best of our trip up there, so I got him Jazz Tickets that same weekend for our anniversary. Mark's favorite MBA team is the Jazz and also has never been to one of their games. Although I am not a huge basketball fan I decided to suck it up and deal with this basketball weekend for the sake of Mark. LOL. It turned out to be fun though but I was more excited to go skiing than anything else. While we were there Mark desperately wanted to go to Legacy Hall at BYU. Legacy Hall is a building full of BYU history and memorabilia regarding BYU sports. Mark was in BYU heaven. I was ready to go after 15 minutes in there but I think Mark really could have spent hours in there. He is even trying to convert our little boy to the BYU fanatical club :)

 BYU vs Ganzaga

 The game was exciting and nerve racking! The place was packed and Mark was on cloud nine. Unfortunately Treyson couldn't come because the game started at 8pm but it was spending time just the two of us. Thanks Aunt Gabby and Uncle Kevin for watching him! Ganzaga was ranked no. 2 when BYU played them. They played them earlier and got slaughtered but they held their own that night. It really came down to the last 6 seconds on who would win. Unfortunately, BYU lost but it was exciting to be there among the roaring crowd. Good thing Mark and I live too far because I think we would be attending every game if we were close enough. Let's just say, that won't be our last game at the Marriott.
     Oh also I got to show off my new earrings that Mark got me for Valentine's Day. (I think it was more a gift for him though :) You can kind of see my BYU dangling earrings in the picture on the left.

 Hanging with Granpa

We got to spend some time with my Grandpa while we were there which was great! Usually our trips to Utah is so crazy and short that we really don't get to spend much time with them. We got to spend Friday afternoon with them and spend the night. Treyson took to his Great Grandparents well and had a jolly time trying to find everything in their house he can't touch. We took them to Brick Oven (A Turner tradition it seems) and Treyson fell asleep on the way there. He was SO out that the waiter replaced the high chair with the infant sling so I didn't have to hold him. I was surprised that he was able to sleep like that and that he slept through all of dinner. 

 Jazz Game

 After dinner we headed to the Jazz game. This time Treyson was able to go! Treyson was a little scared at the beginning with the motorcycles and loud music as the team came in but after that he was mesmerized! For a good part of the game, the seat next to me was empty so instead of holding him I put him in the seat. He LOVED it. He thought he was such a big boy. He wasn't quite heavy enough to keep it from folding in on him but he didn't seem to mind. Jazz killed the other team. We also got to see my good friend Coralyn during half time. We just happen to be at the same game that night.

 Skiing

 This is what I was looking forward to all weekend! I love skiing and never really had the chance for many years. This is the first time Mark and I went together. Although it wasn't fresh powder, it was still a pretty decent day on the slopes. It was actually quite warm (50's) and I often didn't even wear my gloves. I loved every minute of skiing and so grateful for Treyson's Uncles and Aunt for making it happen. Mark had a good time too which is awesome because that means we will probably do it more often. He is even planning future trips for skiing already!!! I can't wait till Treyson can learn as well. All in all, we had a wonderful time in Utah and got to spend some time with family and friends. It was a much needed vacation.

Funny Moments with Trey

Treyson is now crawling, sitting and getting into EVERYTHING, especially gravitating toward things he isn't suppose to be in (cords, bills, plants, blinds etc.) He is on the move and is definitely enjoying this freedom. He LOVES chewing on socks and paper! Here is just a few funny moments we have caught on video or pictures. There are tons more but unfortunately not caught on pictures. Enjoy!

Video below is Treyson in his walker. He is very good at the walker. Anyways, while daddy was away I was playing with him and making monster noises to catch him. He would run away from me when he hears those sounds and start laughing. In the video he didn't really run away and it was so much funnier earlier but Treyson tends to stop doing things when he sees the camera. 

Treyson is eating well and sometimes loves playing with his food. He loves spreading any ounce of food he can get, on his cute little bald head. Needless to say I had to give him a bath after this meal :)

 Now that Treyson can go from lying down to sitting, he often sits up in his crib to look over to see if we are in the room. Well, I put him to sleep and he must have been sitting up looking for us and gave up and fell asleep while sitting up. Looks super uncomfortable to me. At least he is holding on to his favorite Monkey toy he sleeps with every night LOL.

Treyson loves socks! I am not sure that he loves them on his feet but definitely loves them. He is constantly pulling off his socks and sticking them in his mouth and pulling off the socks of the other kids I watch. The other day I found him dumping all the socks out of his basket and making a HUGE mess. Funny baby!

Treyson cracks up anytime I sneeze, he thinks it is the funniest thing in the world. I am so glad he wasn't camera shy for this. I love it when he laughs, you can't help but smile!

Wanna Take a Dip?

We had a freaky cold spell here in Vegas where it was in the high 20's-low 30's during the day. It was cold for Vegas, but nothing compared to Chicago or Rexburg. But still, pretty cold to freeze the pool with a waterfall on constantly. These pictures look cold but it was even more frozen a few days later, to a point where we can stand on a certain part. There was even a day where the only part of the pool not frozen was just around where the waterfall water fell.  I just wish it had snowed! I miss SNOW!! Although that week was freezing we are back to the 60's this winter and enjoying the nice weather. I am awaiting patiently when I can enjoy the pool in the Vegas summer with Treyson. I have a feeling we will be in the pool all the time.

Treyson's First Christmas

 Although Treyson probably won't remember anything this Christmas, I was still super excited to start new family traditions and so blessed to have a wonderful baby boy in our family this year. I got a Groupon for caroling on a horse drawn wagon. It was super fun and surprisingly really cold that week in Las Vegas. The wagon was super cute and decorated with lots of Christmas lights (which Treyson was memorized) and they played some really great classics that I remember from my childhood "Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer", "I'm Gettin' Nuttin' for Christmas" are just some of the fun ones I remember in my family. We ate Chili and Hot Chocolate and sat by the fire. Treyson was a little fussy half way into the ride but he quickly fell asleep and slept the rest of the time. Oh funny story...we were riding in the wagon which is about a 30-40 minute ride, and there was a little boy (maybe 3-4) on their and he declared he had to pee! The ride was almost over we can see the fire pit in the far distant but when a kid need to go, he NEEDS to go. So we stopped the ride and the other horse back riders around, so he could go pee. I just looked at Mark and said that will be us in a few years! It was really fun and I hope we can do something like this again.

 Christmas Eve

 

 I wanted to start a new tradition of opening up new pajamas on Christmas Eve and then go in the car and drive around and look at Christmas Lights. We went to a cool house that had their lights synced with music on a radio station. It was fun and Treyson seemed to like looking at all the lights. Oh and of coarse Mark got BYU PJs. All he needs now is BYU underwear! Just kidding!

Christmas Day

Christmas was great! Treyson seemed excited by all the people and things to see but honestly he was more interested in the wrapping paper (which I figured he would be) than the presents. He was definitely spoiled from head to toe by Grandparents, Aunt and Uncles, and of coarse us! We are so blessed! Mark got tickets to BYU game at BYU so he is pretty stoked! He also got tickets for the WCC conference here in Vegas.

I don't know why but I was super excited for Treyson's new car seat!!! Thanks Grandparents! Treyson was so DONE with the infant seat. He tries to sit up in it and let's just face it, Mommy can't carry him anymore in that infant seat. The new car seat is AWESOME! Although I missed my family terribly during Christmas, it was nice to have Mark's family around to share the Holidays.

Cake Decorating!

What a MESS!

I have always wanted to learn how to cake decorate. I see such cute stuff on pinterest and other sites and wish I can do it but when I tried, it always looks like my nephew Jayden probably decorated it. So for Christmas I asked for some cake decorating tools and classes. My parents were awesome and got them for me and I found a cheap class online. Kevin and Gabby decided to visit us during Martin Luther King weekend and since Kevin's birthday was just a few days earlier, I decided to put my cake decorating again to the test. I made my own frosting and boy did it make a mess, but it was SO good!! I kept eating it and I am not a frosting girl. I decided to take pictures as I decorated in case it went wrong then I had proof that it may have looked better before I ruined it. Luckily it turned out good. It was hard decorating a cake while watching kids because it actually takes some time. I am sure once I get better it will take no time. The pink stars were actually suppose to be red but oh well. Next time I will add more color.

Within a couple of days it was ALL gone :)

Birthday Boy!

Surprise Party: Cupcake Decorating

 It called for 7 cups of icing and so I made that much but I had TONS left over. Luckily this frosting is good for 2 weeks so I decided to use the same frosting for a Surprise Farewell Party for a German Exchange student in Young Womens. I didn't really have a cupcake decorating tip but I used what I had and they turned out pretty cute. I also made this pineapple lemonade punch. I didn't even mean to have a theme of yellow and white for the party but it just turned out that way. I didn't have a cupcake stand either so I used the bottle dryer that someone gave me. Doesn't it look great? LOL I don't think the Young Women knew is was a bottle dryer rack. Anyways, I am not looking into being a professional at this, just enough to make a cute cake. Practice, practice, practice!

Color Me Rad 5k

So I finally ran a REAL 5k in November. For those who know me, I HATE running but know I need to. I figured this would motivate me to exercise and have a goal. With two babies to watch each day, it was a little tough but I was able to be in somewhat shape. I ran with Emily Beals from my ward and we had a blast. I am so grateful for her and that she ran about the same pace. The Monday before we ran the 5k I went to the gym to make sure that I could actually make it and I did it in like 40 minutes which is pretty slow. Emily said she did the same thing. When we went to the 5k we actually ran it under 30 minutes!! That's a huge difference. See what exercising with others can push you to do! Anyways, we had so much fun at this 5k because while you run they throw color powder at you at different spots, and some spots they sprayed you with color liquid. So by the end, your white clothes is now colored. Made running so much more bearable, I wish I could have that happen every time I run, it helps make the running fun. At one station where they were spraying color liquid on you, one guy just got a huge bowl full and dumped green liquid all on me! I was wet and now stained green! It was fun but I was green from clothes to skin. I recommend this to anyone! Yay for my first official 5k!
