Belly Laughs!

The first couple of times I blew on his stomach he threw out his arms and was super scared at first and then laughed soon after. I think he was scared of the noise but laughed because it tickled. I wish I got a video of him doing that but now he is use to it and just laughs. I love babies laughing.

Extreme Couponer...sort of

Everyone in my family makes fun of me when they open my pantry and find a butt load of cereal on my shelves but I think you are all secretly jealous! Yes, I am a couponer and I drive around looking for the best deals, but it saves tons! I am not as crazy as those on the TV shows, partly because I don't have that much time and partly I don't know how to be that good (but learning!). Anyways, I figured I should share a little of my secrets and show you my latest savings (cuz I was just so tickled pink). Anyways here is what I bought for only $43.81 which would have been $127.68 (total of 65% savings!)

  • 30 boxes of General Mills Cereal (such as Reeses Puffs, Lucky Charms, Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Chex, Total, etc) ~I got them for a little more or a little less than a dollar each
  • 10 boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (60 cents each)
  • 2 Avacados
  • 3 cans of Pineapple
  • Roma Tomatoes
  • 2 boxes of Chewy Granola Bars
I now have like 60 boxes of cereal in my pantry but I won't have to buy cereal for a good 6 months maybe. August is the best month to stock up on cereal and back to school things. Coming up during the fall I am going to stock up on Baking goods! A good place to start your couponing adventure is grocerysmarts.com, it is a great site that helps you match coupons and the weekly ads to get the most out of your coupons. I get a lot of toothpaste, floss, and other things free of almost free. You just have to plan it out right. Once you get the hang of it you can save even more. You can also print coupons on coupons.com. It takes time and energy but you save a lot! If you need help or want to tag along my shopping trips you are welcome to.

GO COUGARS!!!

My BYU boys!
The day after we got back from Alaska, was the BYU cougars first Football game (Mark said I was able to go to Alaska if I promised to be back before the first game so him and Treyson can watch it together.) Mark requested his "Y" cookies decorated in blue and white. I am not the best at decorating cookies or cakes but I did try. Don't judge me! I am not as cute and creative as my sister-in-laws. (I blame it on being raised with only brothers lol) Although they didn't look all that great they did taste good! Luckily for our sakes and our neighbors, BYU won and Mark was happy. Haha. Treyson was awake for maybe 15 minutes of the game and then he fell asleep. I have a feeling Treyson has no choice but to be a BYU fan in this family. GO COUGARS!!!
My cookies! There were a lot more but
these were the ones that were decorated the best
even though it may look like the rejects! haha!

Cooling off in Alaska

Treyson's First Flight
It was my Grandpa Burr's 80th birthday in August and Treyson and I decided to go up and surprise him in Alaska. Unfortunately Mark was unable to come due to work and he didn't like the idea of being away from Treyson...and me, but he was so gracious to let us take this adventure. I was so worried about him on his first airplane but he did surprisingly well! He was fussy before leaving the gate and until we took off each time. After that, he fell asleep and I didn't dare move much to wake him up. My arm was REALLY dead after 2 flights each time holding him for about 3 + hours. I was just so glad that he wasn't horrible and everyone judging me. Alaska was so beautiful and nice. Some days were raining but the nice days were just amazing! (Anywhere from High 50's to 60's)

when I was little to feed the ducks

Although my Grandpa figured out that they were having a surprise party for him, my arrival was kept secret. My grandma and mom picked me up at the airport and brought me to his house. I then went to the front door and rung the doorbell. He was looking through the glass and I thought he knew who I was but it wasn't until he opened the door to me and screaming Treyson that he finally got it. It was great! The party went great and I was able to spend some quality time with my grandparents and my mom. We got to see my dad for less than 12 hours before we left. I was glad that Treyson was able to see my grandparents and my parents and vice versa.

I was also able to be there for Missi's endowment in the Alaska Anchorage Temple. It was so special to share that great day with her.

Major Blowout That Could Have Gone Worse

Treyson before the blowout and spending
 his short time with Grandpa
When we arrived at the airport to head back to Las Vegas, I had a lot of help from my grandparents and parents to get my bags and stuff checked in and so forth. We decided to take pictures before heading through security and as I took Treyson out of his carseat, we realized that Treyson had a diaper blowout. It was everywhere....up his back, out the sides, everywhere! He was wearing a "I love my daddy" shirt so that Mark will see it when he picks us up but he ruined it. My mom and I took Treyson to the bathroom to clean him up. We had to completely strip him down and wipe him off. As he was laying butt naked on the changing table and while we were getting his new clothes and diaper, he peed right in his face. His arms where flying and he was shocked! It was the funniest thing to watch. It scared him that he started to cry. So now we had to wipe all the pee from his head and get paper towels to soak up the rest. I hope he has learned his lesson on how we feel when he pees on us! I was so glad we caught this BEFORE I got on the plane. I would have had poo all over me for the whole flight if I didn't notice it. Thank goodness!
Grandma and Grandpa Burr at the airport after the blowout. He looks a lot happier after unloading that diaper.
